300 rise of an empire - 2014
300: Rise of an Empire is a 2014 American epic historical action film directed by Noam Murro. It is a sequel to the 2007 film "300" and is loosely based on the events of the Battles of Artemisium and Salamis in 480 BCE. The film follows the Greek general Themistocles as he leads the charge to defend Greece against the invading Persian forces, led by the God-King Xerxes and his naval commander Artemisia.
The film features more action, blood, and nudity compared to the original "300." However, the plot is considered to be lacking substance, and the acting is generally seen as mediocre.
Principal photography for "300: Rise of an Empire" began in July 2012 at the Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia, Bulgaria. Some underwater greenscreen scenes were also filmed at Leavesden Studios. The film's release date was initially set for August 2, 2013, but it was later pushed back to March 7, 2014.
